Cape Town's Grassroots Football Academy
Ammar Soccer Academy is a grassroots football club based in Mowbray, Cape Town, founded in 2020. We provide training and development opportunities for young players across the Western Cape — from grassroots beginners to competitive senior footballers.
Making History in Cape Town
Founded in 2020, Ammar Soccer Academy quickly made their mark on Western Cape football. The club acquired Paarl United's status in the Hollywoodbets Regional League and made history by becoming the first SAFA Cape Winelands team to qualify for the Nedbank Cup Last 32 — South Africa's second most prestigious cup competition.
Under coach Edward Malunga Fiyaka, the academy beat ABC Motsepe League side Maties 1–0 at the Mbekweni Stadium in Paarl, with Luko 'Whitey' Vakala scoring the all-important goal. The club went on to represent SAFA Western Cape in the Nedbank Cup, playing against some of the best teams in South Africa.
The academy's primary goal is to climb South Africa's football pyramid — competing in the Hollywoodbets Regional League with their sights set on the ABC Motsepe League and ultimately the PSL.
